Many St. Augustine visitors love bringing their family pets along for the ride, that includes vacation shopping. While visiting many guests like to get a jump start on their holiday shopping by finding that unique item from their annual visit to St. Augustine, America’s First City.
Shopping For Fido
What is more fun than shopping? Shopping for your furbaby of course! One of our favorite shops to hit in the St. Augustine area is Faux Paws! Find your perfect gift for your furry friend as this cute little shop is all about your pup and how much you love them! They have everything from owner PJs to rain coats for your pup!
Another fan favorite is Artsy Abode! Enjoy this local favorite as they sport their southern flair with cool shirts, jewelry and unique finds. The staff at Artsy Abode love our four-legged friends and welcome them with open arms! Get some holiday shopping done and treat yourself to an Artsy Abode experience!
Spirited Pup
After a day of shopping, enjoy a wine tasting at the local winery. Visitors love the local wine just as much as the locals do! San Sebastian Winery located on King Street just a few short blocks from the historic district. Small dogs are allowed to accompany their owners while touring the winery and sampling these award winning wines.
After tasting a few scrumptious wines, enjoy a bite to eat, live jazz music and amazing views on the rooftop at the Cellar- located upstairs of the winery. Not only will you enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment, but you will experience one of the most beautiful sunsets St. Augustine has to offer.
One of our absolute favorites to visit especially during the holiday season is the Tiny Martini Bar located in the historic district on the bayfront. They go all out on decorating for the holidays and have some of the best martinis in our opinion. The view and ambiance is the best for you and your pup to experience. You can go indoors and sit at the bar or one of their sitting rooms, but we suggest the outdoor seating option. Once you have been seated and your waiter has greeted you, they will then bring a cute water bowl out for your pup to enjoy. Afterall, they can enjoy a drink and atmosphere just as much as you.
Spanish Military Hospitals Welcomes Four-Legged Visitors
If you are looking for a spot to take some of the cutest pictures of your furry friend, then stroll on over to the Spanish Military Hospital located in the historic district. Pups are allowed to attend the educational tour of the grounds where there are perfect photo opportunities. Once your tour is complete and you feel that you may have had a ghostly encounter or two, check out the Florida Cracker Cafe for a bite to eat. Locals love eating on the back porch, where staff love to bring out a bowl of water for your precious pup to partake while you enjoy their laid back cuisine.
Many restaurants and local shops are pet-friendly. If you aren’t sure if Fido can come along, just give the establishment a quick call to ensure your pup can accompany you. You’d be surprised at how pet-friendly the area truly is.
