Visitors come to St. Augustine year-after-year to view the spectacular Nights of Lights. This year is no different as St. Augustine has lit up the sky with their magical display of the holiday spirit. Take note from the locals that these are the best ways to view the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine.
Nights of Lights by Horse Drawn Carriage
We highly recommend this adventure for couples. Families can too, however, in our opinions couples will enjoy this more than families. Between the fort and the Bridge of Lions, you will find a line of horse-drawn carriages waiting to take you on a romantic tour of the Nights of Lights. You can purchase tickets online in advance, or you can still pay if the impromptu moment arises while walking along the seawall. It is wise to bring a blanket as the nights are getting chilly and it adds to the romantic atmosphere.
Ripley’s Red Train – Nights of Lights
If you are looking for an entertaining tour of the Nights of Lights then this one’s for you. The kids love it as they see special treats along the way with their magical holiday 3D glasses. These glasses are disposable for your safety and convenience. There is always plenty of laughter and holiday singing among these tours. Don’t be surprised if during your tour you find locals joining in on your songs as you wait at the traffic lights, the holiday spirit is strong! You will have to purchase your tickets in advance. Nights of Lights by Boat
Who doesn’t love an evening on the water? Nightly tours of the Nights of Lights are provided by many boat tours in the area. The one we recommend is Boat Tours of St. Augustine. You will see the city lit up from the Intracoastal Waterway. Not only will you get to see the city aglow with holiday cheer you will also learn a thing or two about the area and our sea life. This is another one that is great for the entire family to enjoy. You will also receive disposable 3D glasses that will allow you to see an array of special scenes along your boat ride of our St. Augustine waterway. As with many attractions reservations are required.
Holiday Walk
Of course one of our favorite things to do is walk among the magical lights that put us in the Christmas spirit. Take your time and stroll along the cobblestone streets and gaze at the lights, or sit in the town square and just be amazed by the atmosphere. While strolling through the Ancient City, many of us love ducking into the various shops and purchasing those unique holiday gifts for friends and family. After working up an appetite, eat at one of the many local restaurants. There’s various cuisines in the area that are just a few steps away. Good luck on trying to decide which one to try.
No matter which avenue you choose to view the Nights of Lights, you are bound to have the time of your life and will have made many memories that you can cherish forever.
