St. Augustine is the place to be in the summer, and the Sing Out Loud Festival is part of the reason why! This free – you read that right, free – festival runs from Friday, September 6th to Sunday, September 29th. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there are fantastic new acts to see spread out through the beautiful city of St. Augustine, and we have the inside scoop on where to go, where to eat, and how to make the most out of this fantastic event.
Eating
With multiple venues each weekend, it can be hard to pick where to go. While some restaurants are hosting the concerts, others are not, so we have put together a handy little guide on the nearest places to eat for the venues that pop up most on the schedule. 112 Riberia Street, home of the St. Augustine Distillery, is a venue every weekend of the festival! The closest eatery to the venue is the renowned Ice Plant Bar, which boasts a menu from soft baked pretzel bread to umami watermelon-tomato salad, local fish, and half pound burgers.
77 Bridge Street is another repeat venue, with the wonderful Preserved Restaurant just down the street. Fine dining for a very reasonable amount, treat yourself there to Mayport shrimp and grits or a mouthwatering creme brulee. Near the Colonial Oak Music Park, you can find two great venues – the No Name Bar which has a small but mouth-watering menu of burgers, fish sandwiches and tacos, and the Taberna del Caballo, a restaurant with a wonderful variety of Spanish food ranging from nachos to tacos, to carne asada.
Anastasia State Park, home of the St. Augustine Ampitheatre, has Island Joe’s – some of the best fresh daily food with wonderful new specials every day. Sarbez! and Shanghai Nobby’s are both repeat venues that double as eateries. Enjoy some wonderful, quality dinner along with fantastic music!
