April 26th - June 22nd Ancient City Mosaic Exhibit

Ancient City Mosaic will be a community expression of St. Augustine's cultural diversity where 450 works of art - one for every year of our lengthy history - will be created by 450 local and regional artists. Each artist will be asked to create their impression of a significant historical landmark, event, figure or cultural tradition in St. Augustine. Collectively, it will be an artistic rendering of America's First City, deeper and richer than any history in America. Everyone is invited to roll up their s leeves, get their hands dirty, and submit their creative masterpiece to the Ancient City Mosaic project. All mediums of art will be accepted as long as it fits within the registration guidelines. The guidelines are coming soon! Call to Artists - February 4 to April 5, 2013 Official supplies that exactly meet the artwork submission criteria will be available at Michaels in St. Augustine. Deadline for Accepting Entries - April 5, 2013 Artwork entries are due by this date. The entry fee is $10. One entry per person. Entries are accepted at the following location: Visitor Information Center in downtown St. Augustine Located across from the Parking Garage 904.825.1000 Judging of Artwork - April 5 to 25, 2013 All submissions will be judged to select the top 450 pieces to display at the Visitor Information Center for the Ancient City Mosaic exhibit. A percentage of the sale of the selected artwork will be donated to the Sertoma Club to be given to the St. Johns County Education Foundation Arts Alive Program. Exhibit Open - April 26 to June 22, 2013 On these dates, the Ancient City Mosaic exhibit is available to view and explore the creative talent of the residents in our area. The exhibit will be on display at the newly renovated Visitor Information Center. It will also be available to view online. During this time, artwork can be bid on and purchased. Reception - June 22, 2013 A reception will be held at the Visitor Information Center honoring the artists and participating organizations.
