Spring is officially here, and the weather proves it here in St. Augustine! Crescent Beach has been exceptionally balmy with beautiful sun and soft white sand. As well as beautiful weather, Easter is arriving! Celebrate this special Sunday with a very special event... "A sea of people attend the Crescent Beach Baptist Church's annual Easter dawn service Sunday morning at Crescent Beach. The service typically draws thousands of worshipers to the oceanfront near the Crescent Beach ramp" - OldCity.com. The service begins at 7:00 am on April 8th. There are numerous other Easter Sunday services to participate in St. Augustine as well. When the services conclude, the 54th annual Easter Sunday Parade will commence downtown! "The procession will begin at the Mission of Nombre de Dios on San Marco Avenue just north of the Visitor's Center and head south on San Marco/Castillo Dr/Avenida Menendez in front of the Castillo de San Marcos. At the base of the Bridge of Lions the parade will turn and go along the north side of the plaza (Cathedral Place) in front of the Cathedral Basilica. From there, the parade will turn right onto Cordova Street on the edge of the Flagler College Campus and head back up to the Special Events Field on Orange Street." - OldCity.com This is a great event for the whole family filled with pirates, ghosts, marching bands, clowns, car clubs, representatives of the Spanish Royal Family and of course a special appearance from the Easter Bunny himself. Make sure to book an oceanfront room on the North end of Beacher's Lodge! These rooms will have the best view for the Easter Service.
